Buyer has made payment on Friday . I can't see it under activity tab. I'm very new to PayPal. I dont want to ship item without knowing for sure I have the payment in account. Obviously I'll have to give PayPal tracking number but still, I need to see the funds..

THIS IS A TYPICAL PAYPAL SCAM.

They encourage you to use paypal and often ask you to send the item as a gift to a relative somewhere often Africa / China etc.

You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't.

It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.

They will tell you that the payment is released when you provide paypal with a tracking/shipping number......this won't happen.

They also threaten legal action...have a laugh at that one and ignore it as its rubbish.

Paypal NEVER tell you to send trackable, they advise it for seller protection etc but it is not compulsory.

Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account.

Delete any emails and ignore the scammers.

Wait till Monday , maybe PayPal don't trust this transaction and the system set it to review again by the specialist 🙂

If its not in your paypal account transaction history AND balance then they have not paid.

Did you get an email from paypal and are you sure it was not a spoof??

Was it an international transaction??

Thats why i asked if it was international.

Can you say a gist of the email?

What does it tell you to do?

Does it tell you to post the item and the funds will only be credited when you provide tracking?

Does it say anything about arranging a shipping courier?

Is it going to Africa somewhere?

It says: The payment has been successfully made but due to security reasons we have to receive the shipment tracking number before the we credit your account. This is a new measure we are taking to protect both sellers and buyers against fraudulent customers. Once you have shipped the item and send us the shipment tracking number for verification your account will be credited. This PayPal® payment has been deducted from the buyer's account and has been "APPROVED" but will not be credited to your account until the shipment reference/tracking number is sent to us for shipment verification so as to secure both the buyer and the seller. Send tracking number to us by replying back to this email. Once shipment has been verified and the tracking number sent to us, You will receive a "CONFIRMATION Email" from PayPal informing you that the Money has been credited. Destination is China...

OMG! He said it's for cousin as graduation gift! Plus in the email it says, You may contact the PayPal Customer Verification Department and Quote the Above Transaction ID for quick recognition of this transaction by replying this email. How courageous!

They do get more inventive, I'll give them that.

We used to get more from Africa but the last few weeks has seen more from China.

Verify by replying to the email.     Smiley Wink
