Cancelled transaction but negative money?

I was purchasing from the website 6pm.com for some new shoes and sunglasses. When I went to pay with PayPal it had me log in like usual to PayPal to accept the transaction. I clicked okay and it took my back to the website where it state that there was a problem with my transaction. I then tried to do it again and it said the same thing. When I checked my PayPal account afterwards, both transactions appeared and said "cancelled" but in the money column there was a negative ammount showing for both transactions. What does this mean? Do I still have my money?

The minus sign in front of your amount means that although your transaction has been cancelled, and says "cancelled", you have not gotten your money back into your paypal account yet.  It's a real pain but even if you cancel the transaction that same day or even right after you placed the order, it will take a couple of business days to get your money back into your paypal account.  I am going through the same thing with an online order I placed on Feb 13'th, then immediately cancelled, and as of today I still haven't gotten my paypal money back yet!!

How long did it wind up taking?  I got back from a cruise on 2/9 and my account is still showing a negative balance because of the way the charges were sent - Carnival sent each individual transaction which has now expired and then one big transaction for the whole amount which shows completed.  Because it looks like double charges I'm showing a negative balance and can't use my card - and it is more than I want to transfer from my checking account knowing that it should resolve itself.
