Hello PPPayers,
i have a general question regarding a sale that been sliding slowly south.
I sold an item to a collector in the United States, we sued PayPal as per his wishes. The payment cleared and i shipped the items via Canada Post - regsitered and tracked. The post ofice printed off the address of the recipient and I expected that all was well.
A week passed and I received an email from the buyer advising that he had received an email from the US POstal Service advising that his package was undeliverable at the adresss listed. So i call up USPS - im on hold for 2 hrs (XMas Season) and finally im told that the package is at the main terminal in that City and if the adressee attends with ID he can pick up the items.
Same is relaed to the buyer and another 4 days go by- buyer is now upset and states that he told his letter carrier that the package was for him and he wanted delivered to the house, and it has not shown up,,,,,,,,,,i asked hi if he went to the post office, he again said I told my letter carrier about it---in other words NO HE DID NOT.
the package after not being claimed was re-routed to los angeles and has ben forwarded back to my point in Canada, its been alomost a month since the initial package was sent- Us POST according to their website are obligated to contact the shipper and ask about re-adressing the item and the option to send it back- thos never happended and on a now tyird call to USPS i was advised that this was nt the case for foreign mail,,,,,not what their site says but not much I can do, being Canadian but wait for the package to come back ad re-ship EXPRESS-
The buyer was advised of this and started in with the "youre too **bleep** stupid to copy and paste an address, get my **bleep** to me, you **bleep** up my deal, now i have my buyer abgry that he hasnt gotten his stuff"
So i wrote bacj advising that the item wou;d be sent immediately upon arrival back to him, thenj i asked him if he pre-sold the items prior to purchasing them from me, his reponse " I own a business, i do it all the time, i know what the law is, im a retired cop, get the **bleep** in the mail Asap"
Which was fine,i get that he was kittel upset and i replied that it was still my intention to send the iems as soon as I receive them, and then i told him i was not comfortable with his pre-selling items that he doesnt own or have in his possession as it IS AN OFFENCE, then i kindly innformed him that he was also buying from an ex-mountie and that his comments wouldnt make the mail move any faster.
Not that im worried about it, but he has threatened to start or at least initiate a complaint via PayPal- ive read some of the "fishy" complaints from buyers and just wonderig what the procedure is seeing as he is based in the US and im in Canada- and seeing as i havent receieved the package back i dont know why the USPS considered it not deliverable.
Any thoughts on whether his complaining to PayPal has merit- being new to selling and using paypal as a "MODERATOR" if you will, i dont really want any negative feedback for what could be a POstal error and not my doing??
Thanks Guys
