I need to cancel my PayPal account. How do I do that.

How do I close my PayPal account?

These steps apply to Personal PayPal accounts. If you have a Business account, please log in to your account to see the steps that apply to you.

If you close your PayPal account, it can’t be reopened. Any scheduled or incomplete transactions are canceled. You can’t close your account if there are limitations, unresolved issues, or a balance. Also, if you have an email address on your account that you haven’t confirmed, remove it from your account before you close it.

To close your account:

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click the Profile icon next to "Log Out."
3. Click More Settings.
4. Click Close Account next to "Account type" and follow the prompted steps.

It say to contact PayPal but the link just takes me to a maze of FAQ links. Useless.

The best thing to do is to notify your bank and credit cards to block all paypal transaction. That is what i did. and now the account can fade into the sunset.

May you never have to use Paypal again in your lifetime?

If PAYPAL tried to access your bank account and fail,your account will become negative ,Paypal will notify you to deposit enough fund to fill the hole,or sent you a notice ,if someone ever send you payment in the future,it would be used to fill the hole.

if you ever use the account to buy using your credit card,it will piggyback the amount you owed to the credit card transaction.

if you ever open a new Paypal account and it finds out,it could restrict your account.

Better do it the right way,close the account .

also blocking a certain vendor with your bank only last a few months,I believe it is good for 3 months and you have to apply again,.
