Why would someone tell me to send money western union when they are buying something from me

You are selling; buyer sends YOU money.  You send product to buyer.

It's that simple.

Seller does not pay buyer.  It would be like you walk into a store and the store owner gives you money so you can buy something.

The concept is really stupid but people still fall for it for the idea of easy money on a risky item.

This is such an obvious well-published scam.
