Option for customer paying an invoice to send a note

Is it possible for a customer paying an invoice to add a note?

You can do this if you use the direct "send money" method, but not if you pay via a link on an invoice.

Why is there not an option to leave a note when you make a payment from an invoice?

an invoice comes from the seller,to add additional information on an invoice is just not the correct thing to do for a customer.

He can always sent a separate note.

There are lots of reasons why a customer would want to send a note.

- If there are several options on an invoice on what they want to pay for example you need to know which items they are paying.

-If an invoice allows for partial payments you would want to be able to note quickly which items have been paid and which have not as part of that.

Otherwise, they have to send a separate email.  If you have many invoices that have been sent this is cumbersome.

Currently, if you just "send money" you can easily add a note to explain th epayment, so why not be able to send a note when you pay an invoice?
