I'm a live streamer on twitch and I recently set up donations on my live stream. I've received my first donation recently and it has been under pending. It is telling me that I need to link my bank account to this website in order to receive my money. I've received money on this website before through money sent to me but why do I need to give my info in order to receive my payment?
Linking a bank account provides additional proof of who you are - when you open a bank account, you have to provide acceptable ID when completing the application process. Because you have already proven who you are to the bank, PayPal does not have to take the extras steps to go through the vetting process.
