I sold an item today and the buyer said once the tracking number was verified by paypal the funds would be released into my account. Is this correct? I don’t to a lot of on line selling and I am praying I have not gotten scammed!!!

Hi @Flyinglalars,

Thank you for posting in the community. I know it can be a bit confusing when you first begin selling, and I would be happy to help!

Do you see the transaction in the activity on your PayPal account? If you do not see the transaction, then the payment was not sent to you, and it is probably a scam. If you do see a payment but the funds are not yet in the available balance, check the details of the transaction by clicking on it and note whether the instructions state to ship or not to ship.

If the instructions state that the payment is pending and not to ship yet, then you would want to wait for the funding to clear, as it was an eCheck.

If the instructions indicate that you should ship, then entering tracking would help speed up the availability of the funds. Once the tracking is added and it shows delivery to the address in the transaction details + three days, the funds would be available.

I hope this helps!

Olivia
