1099 doesn't match our records...

Hello --

I've been using PP since 2007 for my business and have never noticed this before.  Our 1099 doesn't match what our records show.  PP is saying we brought in more than we did -- to the tune of around $10,000!  And yes, we've figured in refunds (only a handful throughout the year), service fees, even money we paid to family/friends.

It just doesn't add up.

Any thoughts?  Could PP's numbers be wrong?

The PayPal 1099K is the total of all gross receipts for goods/services from all sources.  It has nothing to do with refunds, fees, or for family/friends.

Thank you, and that's exactly what I was saying.  I know the 1099 shows gross. And although we've already accounted for these in our records, it just doesn't add up.  PP is saying we made way more than we did.  I just don't see where they're saying we made all this money.   😞

you may have refunded more than you think, also sales tax,do you collect sales tax, chargeback fee,do you have more than one account using the same SS number.

But then Paypal has been **bleep** up a lot of things !
