Hi!

So I withdrew my money from paypal (July 04) then I didn't know, I attached the ATM Card Number instead of the account number Smiley Sad

Then it says in my activity, payment status: Completed

Will this be returned to my paypal account? How much longer?

And do I need to include the spaces/dashes when adding my account number?

Thanks! Smiley Happy

That's an interesting question - Residents of the Philippines can withdraw funds to a credit, debit or prepaid card however, if you didn't already have the card linked and confirmed previous to this, the withdraw may fail.  Problem is it just may take some time for the funds to be returned.

For example, a similar scenario can happen with a refund sent to an old card:

When PayPal refunds money back to a card, the card issuer/bank receives the funds and will post them back to the appropriate account.   If they do not do this, the funds are usually sent back to Paypal. PayPal will then post them into your PayPal balance. The bad news is, the process can take 30 days or longer before PayPal gets the funds back. PayPal recommends you contact your card issuer and let them know a refund was sent to the old card so they can assist you by locating that refund and/or expediting the return of funds.

It may be best to follow-up by contacting customer support and ask them to check a few things out for you.  They should have a better idea as to what may happen next.

Thanks!

And do I need to include the spaces/dashes when adding my account number?

My account number is only 13-digits without the dashes, but when I add them, it'll be 17-digits.

Paypal only accepts upto 16 digits.

Example:

Without dashes: 1231123456789

With dashes: 123-1-123-12345-1

What should I do? Smiley Frustrated

Hi, I contacted my card issuer and they told me that my withdrawal is now on my account. It was added yesterday.

So I guess they accepted the ATM Card Number instead of the bank account.

For those who are reading this, I bank with MetroBank, so kudos to them for doing the thing even though I added the wrong info Smiley Happy
