Paypal support like to comment

Hi All
I was asking a support rep (Steven Elliot) in the UK if it is possible to switch a Paypal account between legal owners and if the recurring transaction tokens would survive the change etc.
He asked how long I was in the business and was able to comment that "I am surprised that you dont know how an API key works if youve been in the business for that long".
Is it the job of Paypal support in the UK to comment on their customers skills and abilities and imply that they are deficient in such skills?
While he was willing to make it all sound easily possible on the phone - there was absolutely no chance of getting his assurances in writing.
