First, the printer issue. If you have an Android system you'll need the Woosim bluetooth printer. A different printer is available for iOS. Both are listed on the PayPal Here web pages. We use the Woosim with an Android tablet. It works fine.
Next, the inventory issue.
The nubmer of items isn't a problem, but you do need to add each one manually, best from the computer. PayPal Here doesn't manage inventory, meaning there are no quantities as part of the inventory. (For that you can use Sqaure or Clover Go.)
At time of sale the tablet display is similar to Square, just reversed, and easy to use. If you separate you items into categories it makes it easier to find for a sale. You can scroll through the list or search an item.
The feature I really like (and this unique to PayPal) is the bar code attached to each item. If you are selling physical items, just use the tablet camera to scan the bard code and the item is selected (bar code feature is not available on a smartphone). You do need to create each bar code and then use the inventory management on the tablet to attach it to the item.
PayPal Here also offers an online store, but I find it cumbersome.
Square has a nice online store for inventory.
