I'm sorry to say this but this is not correct. I haven't been able to use 'Pay in 3' since May 2023. I have perfect account standing and perfect credit score too. And what is really odd - ALL PayPal customer support representatives I spoke told me I should be able to use it and it must be merchants and stores not accepting it but they do! It's very concerning that PayPal relies on this security system that clearly IS broken. None of PayPal customer support people was able to resolve this or overwrite that automatic system. This is very bad that this payment method is being removed from many PayPal users with perfect account standing. I still don't have access to Pay in 3 after 6 months! Each PayPal customer support person had different reason why it doesn't work: 1) their security system detected something unusual in my activity and removed that payment method from my account but it was supposed to be restored within 72 hours! 2) they said they do credit checks but my credit score is above excellent so that could never be the reason 3) they asked me if I use VPN in my web browser I said that I do but I always disable it when I use PayPal 4) they asked me to delete cookies in my web browser and try different ones - also did not work. I simply cannot understand how this continues and more and more people lose access to that payment method - meanwhile PayPal competitors like Klarna, clearpay give you access to paying in instalments! ... I have been having this issue since May 2023. It vanished and I was not able to use it since. I completed like 30 payment plans without any issues before. I made several calls to PayPal, contacted them through their messages centre and it got me nowhere. They keep saying they checked me account and I'm eligible to use it and asked me to: use other merchants/stores, clear web browser cache, remove all debit/credit cards and then add them back, use different web browsers and nothing worked. It's clear their automatic security system is broken because it's preventing good customers from using this feature. When will this be addressed? How many more people will be denied to use it?   I have never missed any payments, I have excellent account history since 2006 and my credit score is above average. ... View more
