A couple of days ago I won an item in an Ebay auction, I went through to pay immediately; I reluctantly found my only option to be to pay through paypal. I used a paypal account I had created a little while ago, and had not used at all (I prefer to not use paypal when I don't have to) and this account has my bank account attached, so the payment when through (I saw the transaction in my banking app). I thought everything had worked and gone through correctly, but when I was checking my ebay account the next day, I saw a sand timer icon next to the item, when I hover it says 'payment is being processed'. I then checked the transaction in my paypal account and it says the payment is pending and that the seller has not accepted the payment yet. there is no cancel option, the only clickable link is a 'don't delete' (?). The seller is fairly new, with a feedback score of 27. The paypal account I used to make the payment is not linked to my ebay account, and I think an old paypal account was linked to my ebay account instead; could this have caused problems? Thanks! The transaction is showing as 'payment initiated' for the seller. not sure if this helps.
