Yesterday I listed an iPhone Xs Max on freeads; a lady contacted me very quickly after the add went live via whatsapp (I wasnt even aware you were able to do this) anyway, she asked my best price, I told her £900. She asks for my paypal email address to send the money. I get a message from her saying she's done it, but my balance isnt reflecting this. She then says she's had email confirmation from paypal of the transaction going through & I should have the same! I use paypal for payments all the time, so I know how it works. Anyway I decide to check my spam mail & there are 3 emails from paypal saying the money is held until I provide a tracking number as proof of postage! This is a scam surely? Ive messaged the woman to say Ive forwarded the emails to Paypal spoof for investigation & she sent me a crappy message back. Ive then checked my spam emails this morning & there's another one saying my account will be frozen as they understand Im refusing to go through with the transaction .... honestly, freeze my account if it proves that this is a scam or not, I dont really care! Im pretty confident that this is someone trying their luck, but would welcome your thoughts! Thanks in advance.
