To link your personal bank account to PayPal, you do not have to reveal your user name or password for your personal bank account. You must exter your routing number and account number so PayPal can deposit two amounts of a few cents. then you go back into PayPal account to verify the deposits and confirm your bank account. This protects you and PayPal. In 450 transactions, we have never had a problem with PayPal security at all and have never had an issue with our bank account because of PayPal. In fact PayPal moves at the speed of light to credit our PayPal account with payments while the bank moves like a snail when we're transferring from paypal to our bank acct. Your credit card expiration date may have changed since you linked your credit card or you could have even cancelled or hit your card limit for it not to work to pay whatever fees you have.
