I was notified by PayPal on Monday that a payment had been processed for the vendor Lyft. I was shortly thereafter notified that my password would need to be reset due to suspicious activity on my account. After promptly changing my password I created a dispute for the unauthorized charge. I also created a ticket with Lyft, where we were able to determine that the payment was charged on someone else Lyft account apparently using my PayPal credentials. They stated they could not process a refund, as that would be left up to PayPal. Yesterday I received a response from PayPal stating that the ticket was closed and that no refund would be issued due to the fact that the transaction was not covered by protection. I am unsure how to now proceed in being reimbursed for a transaction I never authorized. My account was compromised and PayPal support seems reluctant to provide any assistance. Please help.
