Long story short! Purchased an iPhone online via PayPal goods & services. Paid via 2 separate transactions for £110 each, totalling £220. The seller made me pay the first half whilst the phone was being unlocked in order to reserve it, then the second transaction once this was completed and ready to ship. All good - received the phone, later to find out it's completely un-useable and faulty. Tried to communicate with the seller directly, however they accepted the return (via messages), then refused. I then opened a Paypal case immediately - after ringing PayPal they confirmed I needed to open a case for both transactions and just duplicate the info (and outline why it's 2 transactions). Again, all good, seller obviously replied by the sounds of it that I had 'tampered' with the phone and therefore the fault is my issue. Cases were closed in the sellers favour! I immediately rang PayPal to explain this wasn't the case and how I was going to gain evidence to prove my case through an appointment at the Apple store. They appealed the cases. I also have the evidence in a formal report from Apple going in my favour and proving the seller wrong - uploaded to my PayPal account. Now 4 days later - 1 of my cases is finally accepted for return, the other denied. Therefore I'm out of pocket by half the amount I require! After ANOTHER hour on the phone with PayPal this evening an agent (explaining the same long story again!) has agreed to bump the denied case up the queue alongside the case which HAS been accepted - in order for the same agent to overlook and accept in order for me to return asap. I've received no confirmation of this via the resolution centre and I've spent 2 hours over the past few days on the phone to PayPal. I have been told not to send the item back to the seller until both cases are accepted - which I obviously agree with, however I feel like I'm running out of time and making no headway. I am concerned I will end up contacting them AGAIN in order to chase this up. I am very cautious of the fact I only have to a certain date to post the item back - however obviously won't do so until BOTH cases are accepted and ready to go. Anyone else had issues with split payments/transactions and appealing? Any help much appreciated!
