Second time this has happened. I purchased gift cards to make a large purchase. The first time I purchased $600.00 worth of equipment, used the two gift cards I had to complete the transaction on my android. Transaction completed, showing both gift cards were accepted. My credit card was charged instead! I called customer support and told them what happened. I was told it was because my paypal account was unverified (it was a few years ago but apparently that got dumped from the system), so I went back in and gave my bank info (again) and got instantly verified. Yesterday, I went to the store, bought two $405.00 Ebay gift cards. Made my $820.00 purchase using the giftcards. Checkout said I was $10.00 short, so charged the rest to the credit card. Today I have two gift cards with $405.00 each on them and my card was charged $820.00 for the transaction. My credit card yesterday was charged a total of $1630.00 between the gift cards and paypal. I can handle paying the $820.00 for the item I purchased, but $1630.00 for my item, plus two "unused" gift cards is unacceptable. I cannot pay my credit card at the end of the month now. No one will take the brunt of this but me because I've been through that mill once now and I know how paypal spins it off on technical rules, details, Ebay, or just me. Listen up Paypal! You may have me over a barrel right now, but one day Ebay won't require me to jump through your hoops to make a purchase. You'll spend millions of dollars in advertising to get me back when all it really took was to do me right when you had me. You don't answer Emails, your phone help is worthless when I finally figure out how to get out of your endless automated loops, but you sure as **bleep** know how to charge up my cards! Once I can bail out of the **bleep** you put me through I will never be back. Today you ignore me while you take my money. Tomorrow I'll ignore you when you spend that money trying to get me back. That's Capitalism, and I love it. Good day.
