Invoice payment - Wrong Account

I have two paypal accounts that I use to pay for different things. Paypal account A and B   I was asked to provide an email for the invoice so gave the person Paypal Account B's email address. And the email was sent the invoice. When I clicked on the invoice and paid it, I looked in the recent transactions and it wasn't there. However going into Paypal Account A, the transaction is there and the email address I use for account A received the payment confirmation email. So even though account B was invoiced, account A paid the invoice.    This isn't the end of the world, but I'm confused as to why this has happened and 100% do not want it happening again.    What went wrong?
