After reached PayPal by phone the person I talked to sent me a relevant article about scams, i.e. sometimes people will pretend they have a connection to your PayPal account when they really don't. This was the case with me. I NEVER set up an automatic payment with IAPWE so there was nothing to cancel. My only recourse is to cancel my bank card and get a new one.

I have cancelled my membership to this organization on the merchant's website, the merchant insists I go through hoops on PayPal to cancel. I can't find any evidence of an automatic payment on my PayPal profile. However, they HAVE taken the money out of my bank account. Impossible to get to a human on PayPal. So what gives?
