Seller is claiming they never received my return

Hi everyone, first post on here. apologies for the length but It’s hard to explain. About a month ago I bought some trainers from an online site with mixed reviews. Ended up being the wrong size so I sent them back according to all instructions written in the package and on their website. Cost me £10 but I wanted to make sure it was tracked to guarantee a refund. The service I use to send parcels (Parcel2Go) gives you two reference numbers, one which starts with P2G and then another which is related to the courier you choose. Anyway, by following the tracking link given to me when I sent the item, the trainers were received on the 23/12 by the seller and since then I heard absolutely nothing re: refund. The tracking website says delivered with signature. After opening a dispute the seller finally responded (typical) saying they never received anything from me. Turns out, in one of the documents I sent as proof of delivery (it was a screenshot of my Parcel2Go confirmation email which included the P2G reference, Hermes long shipment number and delivery address) the long shipment number is different by one digit to the one which shows when you actually click through the tracking link. The seller is now using this as leverage to dispute the delivery which is so frustrating as I have no idea why there are two different numbers. I have provided evidence that the P2G reference (also visible in the screenshot) takes you to the exact same delivery information surely proving that the package is the same and the difference in number is an error on the Parcel2Go email. I don’t know what else to do - I’m so worried that paypal will settle in their favour and I know that I sent the item back, and the tracking link given to me at time of posting tells me the shipment was delivered to Munich (the destination country) it’s so obvious it is the same parcel despite the random number change. Can anyone explain why there are two numbers so I can pass this on to paypal? Is there any danger that I will lose my money? I have to say I will never use paypal again if they don’t settle this in my favour, I’m clearly being scammed by the seller and I am so anxious that I have to wait days before a decision is made. Just want to know how likely it is that the seller will he believed? Edit: I’m currently out £100 because of this so that’s a substantial amount of money to lose when I know I am in the right 😞 ...
