That right JohnDF. Where you are caught with an almost non-win situation, PayPal/Ebay should have made sure long ago we people (buyers) wouldn't have to contend with product situations like these. It certainly makes me wonder who in the heck on PP/Ebay set the policies. The last thing we buyers want to worry about are return shipping charges.

I am truly sorry for you Fergman. If your transaction happened as you say, you should research other LEGAL means to recoup your money. It is a real shame that you lost that amount of money. I agree. I bought an item of several hundred dollars value. The item was heavy as the shipping was. The item worked for a few minutes and the seller lied through his teeth and slandered me in an effort to have the transaction litigated his way. I was entitled to return the item but the sipping both ways yet cost me several hundred dollars. This is way out of bounds unfair to the buyer as it does not encourage the seller to work with integrety.

This is absolutely true..A buyer should NOT be required to pay for "ANY SHIPPING COSTS" incurred as a result of a transaction when any item is significantly "not as described." This is the proverbial "pig in a poke" transaction and should be beyond the integrity of PAYPAL and or EBAY. A seller should be required, without reservation, that his item which is about to be shipped to a buyer is just as described, without any variation.
