eBay refund denied due to purchases were not unaut...

Hi all, The other day I purchased 6 microSD cards from two different eBay sellers. After purchasing I thought I would go into their profiles and check then out (I know, I should of done that BEFORE clicking the pay button...) and realized that they were both very similar profiles, with similar emails ID (found this on the purchase confirmation emails), based on the same city, no review as sellers, and they only just registered on eBay... rapidly the word SCAM came to my mind. So I tried to message them both by email and eBay message with no replies. A few minutes later, went again into their profiles and surprise surprise BOTH users are not longer registered.  I elevate this to a PayPay claim only to get told that "We've determined that the payment is not a case of unauthorized account activity, and as a result your claim has been denied."  Obviously I tried to re open this claim on the correct path this time (as payments were made by myself but by error as I did not check the sellers profiles before) but this time I get this automatic message: "You have already identified an issue with this transaction. Please visit the Resolution Centre to view the status of your open cases." - and no claim gets open or re opened.  I have messaged the PayPal team again but I would like just to check in this forum, are they not supposed to protect the buyer and not the seller on this case?
