I work for a company that had a former employee create a paypal login to have one of our customers pay their invoices in the amount of $6k to this said "company" email through paypal. The problem is, our company does not contain a paypal account as a source of payment. How do you report this to Paypal and have it investigated? I am part of the accounting department trying to figure out a way to report this. They have reported it to police, but not much can be done without evidence of it happening. How can the company find out what the email address is that was used and what the activity was? The customer was also gullible enough to send that money to this mystery company email and refuses to pay the outstanding invoices that are actually for services that he has to pay for still.
