I recently purchased a 12 month Xbox Live Gold subscription for $45.99 from a seller with over 1,000 transactions and 100% positive reputation on eBay. Hundreds were sold alongside mine. Now, I paid right away believing a digital code would be emailed to me like sellers have done in the past. A day passes and I receive an email from eBay telling me the seller was from a compromised account. Now I ask eBay customer service about refunding the charge and I am told they cannot do anything and to contact PayPal to open a case. I quickly open a case with PayPal and a few days pass by and I receive a not in your favor decision and the purchase goes through. Then I find out that eBay will help If you contact them through Facebook messenger or call them. So, I contact eBay again and am told they cannot act in this manner anymore because I already have a case open with PayPal and to contact them. After the decision came through I appealed and it is currently pending decision for a couple days now. I am overseas on a military base and I cannot just phone call the US customer service line. At this point, I’m just being passed back and forth between the eBay and PayPal and I am really disappointed In how both companies have handled this. Can someone please help point me in the right direction to get this resolved. My last choice, and it should never have to get to this point, is to visit my bank, show them all the evidence of a fraudulent transaction, and have them do a charge back.
