Hello, I'm very grateful to PayPal who have recently secured a refund from a company that was previously ignoring my claim. However, the same firm still hold money of mine in an account managed by a company which states under their name they are "a PayPal service" - and further claim " As a PayPal service, our innovative payments technology, scalable solutions, and legendary white-glove support are backed by one of the world’s largest and most trusted fintech brands." - All requests to the company to have these funds transferred to my bank account have been ignored. They appear to be impossible to contact , with 93% of reviews scoring them only 1 out of 5 " Extremely Poor". Where such a firm is clearly using the trusted PayPal brand to inspire confidence, will PayPal act or advise.      ... View more

Hi. Yes you can.I claimed a refund (the "live chat" agent gave me an email address, not allowed to post here ) for non collection and received what I now know is their standard " We've received your email and aim to reply within 24 hours " reply, then nothing. Further emails went unanswered so after waiting for three weeks I contacted PayPal and they took it up for me. The deadline for them to respond was the 30th and today the 27th I was told they were refunding the payment. However BEWARE, I haven't received it yet and I've discovered that a previous refund wasn't paid into my bank account but into a Parcel2Go " Pre pay " account which I had not set up. The sting in the tail is that if the Prepay acc isn't used for twelve months you lose your money, they just take it !!! I'm now trying to find out who to contact at PayPal because Braintree who operate the Prepay accounts proudly state they are a PayPal service. In my opinion they are using the trusted name of PayPal to run a shady, if not downright dishonest operation.   ... View more

You have given advice, but you haven't answered the original question. I need to pay for something in a different currency, if the funds are already in my Paypal acc ( if I understand correctly, to add funds from my bank I need my personal customer reference / id )  the charge is 0.5%, if Paypal use my debit card their charge is 3.9% + fee. Perhaps I'm being cynical in thinking Paypal prefer the latter arrangement. Can you answer the question "Where do I find my (personal ?) customer reference / id " . . .
