Hi there, I have been running a small software web company for some years now. It's been based in the UK and has been run as a Limited Company with a PayPal Business account, linked to my business bank account. I set up the Limited Company for my main work, which is writing; but also used it for the software (because that's another kind of writing!). In both cases, I have effectively been a sole trader – it's just me and a laptop, there are no other employees. I'm now in the process of moving country – to Spain – and closing down my UK Limited Company because it's no use to me here. (For my day job I will simply be an individual writer, and pay tax etc as an individual.) But I want to keep running the software website. I know I need to open a new PayPal account here in Spain to receive any income from the website. If possible, though, I'd like to keep things very simple, and certainly don't want to start up anything like another Limited Company here. So my questions are: 1) Can I receive PayPal payments from the website as an individual instead of as a business? (The turnover of the website is in the £1500 – £5000 bracket so I rather doubt this is possible, but I thought I'd ask.) 2) If I set up a PayPal account here in Spain, is there a "sole trader" equivalent that I could opt for? As I said before, the website is just me; there are no employees. 3) Do I have to have a Spanish Business bank account to link to whichever PayPal account I go for, or would a Personal bank account be okay (even if the PayPal account is a "sole trader" type or a Business type)?
