Absolutely could not agree more. I’ve been waiting on a refund of my own money for over $1,000. It took days just for the refund to post to my PayPal balance from “hold”. After attempting to withdraw my refund, it prompts me to enter my debit card details for instant transfer. After clicking transfer, it fails after about 3 seconds, then prompts me my account is locked due to suspicious activity. I then receive a notification in my account requiring me to upload a picture of my passport and bank statement for PayPal to “review” before I can access my refund. I’m not going to mention the fact that I’ve already paid nearly $75 in paypal fees, and then another $10-$25 service fee to transfer instantly to my bank. Lol, you think square cash and cash app are better than PayPal?! Western Union money transfer is better than PayPal. If you wrote a paper check in Los Angeles, walked to New York, then swam across the Atlantic to pay for a European eBay transaction, you could probably swim back to the US, and your money would still be pending “review” by the time you got back. If I had to guess, PayPal (like many major banks) place arbitrary holds on medium to large sized transactions to accrue interest on the “hold” while the transfer is “pending”. They then tell the client it’s due to account safety, suspicious activity, or some other arbitrary bogus claim, even when you’re trying to pay yourself your own money, and the information you’re entering about your bank account/debit card matches your PayPal account info to a tee. No Longer Able to Pay via Bank Transfer... Why?!

I've been beating my head against the wall with this issue, and paypal customer service has been absolutely useless.  I've had my paypal account for quite some time now, and have always payed my invoices via bank transfer.  The funds have always been in the bank, I've never had a transaction get kicked back or fail to go through, infact, bank transfer has been my normal method of payment (and yes my bank account has been confirmed and verified, and has been for quite some time).  About a week ago, I went to pay an invoice and all of a sudden the bank transfer option is greyed out, with a message that says "This payment option is not available".  Why???  I've always used this option, or at least had it as an available option for payment, and this has been my preffered method of payment for quite some time..  Speaking with customer service got me absolutely nowhere, they told me to bring the issue up with the merchant, which I did.  The merchant reached out to PayPal customer service, and was told that their is no issue on the merchants end that would prevent them from receiving payments in the form of a bank transfer.  To even prove that this issue wasn't with the merchant but infact my account, I went to transfer $5.00 to my wife and the bank transfer option isn't even available!!  Why the **bleep** not!!???!  Contacting customer support again, I was given a BS response that they can't see why it isn't an available option, but that it is a system thing.  That is not an acceptable answer.  I even reached out to support via email, 3 days later and still no response.  So much for their "24 hour" response time...  Has anyone else had this issue??  Is there someone from paypal reading this that has half a clue?!  I'm just fed up with paypal and their lack of knoweledge at this point.  I need a real solution to this problem, and not some BS response.  I've been trying to pay this bill for over a week, and I need a real solution (and no debit/credit card is not an option at this time, otherwise, I would already have done that).  Paypal used to be really convenient, and easy!  However, over the years, I've continued to see a steady decline in not only system functionallity and useability, but their customer service skills and knoweledge as well. ... Can't pay using Bank Transfer option all of a sudd...

I've been trying to pay the invoice in my PayPal account for 5 days now.  Generally, I've paid using the instant bank transfer option, with no issues.  Now, all of a sudden the payment options for instant bank transfer is no longer an option.  I first contacted PayPal with this issue on 10/9.  The lady I spoke with said there is no reason that I'm unable to make this purchase using the instant bank transfer, and that the problem was with the merchant.  So, I contacted the merchant, who contacted PayPal and PayPal said there is no reason they cannot receive payments from a bank transfer payment.  The merchant even cancelled the invoice and sent me a new one just incase there was a glitch with the invoice itself.  Still the same issue...  So I called PayPal customer support AGAIN this morning on 10/13, and was told that they don't know why it isn't an available option, but that there could be a multitude of reasons, and that the security system was blocking the payment..  Again.. Why?  No one can give me an answer..  All I was given was a slew of theoretical possibilities, one of them being that the last time I paid this invoice from this merchant I used a debit/credit card, the other being the last time I tried to pay this invoice with a credit/debit card the transaction was declined (which it was, I entered the card information incorrectly, I fixed the typo, attempted the payment again, and it went through with no problems).  So based on the information that I've received from customer service (assuming one of the reasons they've given me are in fact the actual reason as to why I'm unable to pay this invoice with an instant bank transfer option) if I enter my card information incorrectly during check out it's going to automatically block all other forms of payment?!  Even though in the same transaction I fixed the typo and the payment went through??  But no one can give me an answer as to when this will be an available option again.  Which is absolutely absurd!!  All I've gotten from customer service is a run around, and potential theories as to what the problem could be.  It has been explained to me that the "system" doesn't give customer service a reason, or any kind of explanation as to why, how, or when these other forms of payments will be an available option again, or why it was removed as an available payment option in the first place.  So what good is customer service then if they can't even see the issue or the reason?!  This is bad business for both merchants and customers!!  I have a hard time believing there isn't a human being in PayPal that can resolve this issue.  Seems to me, PayPal needs to get a better handle on their "system", or make some major improvements to allow customer service to resolve and take care of these kinds of issues.  I was basically told to just wait until it is an available option again!  Are you kidding me??!!! ...
