Many times I have found INSTRUMENT_DECLINED error with my REST API application after a payment process. This means that I had a successfull authorization but the "execute" command did not work and the transaction was not finalized. This cause to me a lot of problem because the user received all notifications from his bank/card and the transaction looks completed from his point of view but I cannot process the purchase because of this INSTRUMENT_DECLINED on "execute". Dear all, I developed a ticketing website, it accepts Paypal payments. Last night I found a double payment for the same tickets with the same Paypal ID and I cannot understand why, looking into Paypal API and application logs I found that the confirmation URL was called twice, one after 300millis after the other, my application called twice the execute payment of course with the same Paypal payment ID and it was confirmed twice (https://api.paypal.com/v1/payments/payment/PAYID-xxxxxxxxxxx/execute aswer code 200 for two times). The customer found the double charge and we will refound one of them, but how can I call a payment execute twice without error? Dears, I just installed Paypal PHP SDK in my site to use REST API interface. I saw that with default config there is a var/auth.cache file and it is accessible from the web. Is this a security issue? Should I move that path or set Apache to block web request to it? (I moved here the question from about Business) ... View more
