Can anyone out there tell me if they are having to verify their cards every two weeks, and are being asked to provide a pp 4 digit number, on a Sunday, with their bank? I have been asked to verify my old credit card three times in five weeks, and changed my card on Friday, logging it into Paypal, who now want me to provide a 4 digit code onj a statemenrt which does not yet exist ! I have just spent 20 minutes on the 'phone with Paypal, who insisted I phone my card issuer for the code number, and I then spent one and a quarter hours on the telephone to my card issuer, who did not even know what a pp code number is. Waiting time, should you have the same trouble, is approxcimately 25 minutes to lloyds on a Sunday. Paypal had been using my original cards for almost 18 months, but have now decided that I am either criminally insane (i.e therefore not fit to have a card, or stupid);. please let me know about any similar problem, as I think the newspapers would be interested (I worked in Fleet Street on Sun and FT for 15 years.
