Sent a payment to the wrong email address

So a couple of days ago I attempted to buy something but the seller accidentally gave me the wrong email address - Actually it was almost the same minus a year at the end of it - and the payment was apparently claimed. I spoke with someone on the phone at PayPal that took me step-by-step to open a dispute, and this morning I got an email saying this claim has been denied because it wasn't "unauthorized use or an transaction error". Now it won't let me open another dispute for what was probably the correct option for the type of case.  I also emailed the person I sent the payment to to explain the situation without any response. I’m clueless as to what I’m suppose to do about all this aside from waiting around for this person to do the right thing, but my money is floating in limbo, and I can't by any menas afford to just let it go.   Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
