I sent a secure payment several weeks ago to an individual seller from my linked bank account and it showed ~$577 deducted from my chequing. Now I have done this several times before with other sellers both in Canada and internationally (US) and never had issues with funds going through or delays. This time it shows on my PayPal account that I am ~$277 in the negative, yet somehow the other ~$300 went through, odd, but maybe I went past my chequing daily limit. I checked, and no i did not exceed my limit. So I follow the links from my Paypal account to add money to correct the balance. 24 hours later the money is gone from my chequing but still not in my Paypal account. Today, still no money in my Paypal account. Several times I call the help line, but its automated menu options lead me to some outfit in Quebec, whose only option is "if I have received a letter or message" (I have not...) and no matter whether I select something or not I end up on hold (recorded the entire process with my gopro, you're welcome) for two hours, one hour, 1/2 hour, 20 minutes, and 3 hours...as long as I wait until I finally hang up because no-one EVER answered, not once. I send a secure message describing my account issue and receive a reply stating that I should call the number I already called, and again I end up in Quebec where the french language messages are played first. I select no menu option because none apply, the get the message that paypal may or not be open or may just be really busy please call back. (just like every other time I have called except it asks me to stay on the line). So, ~$900 CAD and over 3 weeks later the seller still has no money from me (he got a pending message of some kind), I still have no response or explanation as to why this transaction would be different from any of the dozen or so others I have made, and I feell like I should be contacting the RCMP fraud division or the FTC (or whichever govt department which handles financial skullduggery/poor business policies for international/online corps) because the runaround has been so unprofessional and absurd this would be a terminable offence in a workplace for an employee, or a loss of license/contract for a contractor or business. So after all that, my question: What is my recourse? How do I get my time back, and Paypal get my trust back? How can this be prevented in the future? What will Paypal do to remedy their Kafka-esque and absurd answering service?
