I just had this happen this morning during the course of placing an order with Bed Bath & Beyond. I received an email saying "You added a new address". The details, however, are all the same, nothing added to it, no strange characters or anything like that. Not sure what they mean by my address being a "gift address", though. That's odd. Anyway, according to Bed Bath & Beyond, my order has been placed, so all seems well on that end. However, just to be safe, I logged into PayPal and changed my password.
