Thanks to all for the input and advice! I'm an IT professional but not a developer by trade (or ability, for that matter). However, I can get 'er done when it comes to the Web. What has held me back so far is that while I hope to remain friends with the business owner forever, neither one of us wants to be beholden to the other when it comes to business. Thus I've been looking for shrinkwrap or subscription services that won't bankrupt him or tie him down. I should also add that he was ripped off for $8k but a so-called Web Developer who only created an HTML shell of a store and then walked away with the money before she did a lick of database work. All that said, I will share the PayPal info that has been provided and I will pursue the lightly customized cart solutions that you've pointed me towards. Thanks again!
