It seems its still broken. I get no feedback at all from IPN scripts. The simulator tells me the handshake has been successfull and verified but when I make a dummy transaction using the 'buyer' account the IPN is silent, nothing is returned.   I've tried just about every IPN script there is to try and just about every tutorial I can find.   Paypal need to come clean about this as pre-testing is key to launching a site which needs to talk to a backend datbase. If they dont put it right its time to find another payment gateway that is not mickey mouse. ... View more

New check out page is utterly ridiculous. The old one used to show the products bought in a cart listing style, clearly visible. This new one buries the most important part of the check-out process under a little drop down arrow icon which is practically useless.   Not sure who gave the go ahead for this rubbish its user-unfriendly. Ok the layout itself looks a bit cleaner and fresher but some of the most impotant aspects have been totally overlooked.   In the account section - poor in my opinion as we now have part old UI and part new UI - pretty confusing. Also it seems any site not build before a certain date gets taken to the old check-out styling - how utter dumb is that in terms of corporate identity. Paypal now looks like it has a split personality.   Maybe it takes after the idiot who commissioned the changes. ... View more

IPN Help

Been trying for hours to get some response from the IPN simulator in the Sandbox.   Tried about half a dozen IPN scripts, all where the 'Handshake' was confirmed in the Sandbox. But when I go through a dummy run using the 'Buyer' and "Seller' account I set up I don't get any response from the IPN script. All I'm trying to do is send a confirmation email back to myself to assertain if the script is working - thas not happening.   I can see the other parts of the process have worked as I get 'Notifiactions' under the 'Buyers' and "Sellers' account informing me of the activity.   Any suggestion to as to what it is I'm doing wrong please. The IPN script on the Paypal site itsef doesnt work as the hand shake is not confirmed. Does anyone have a simple IPN script that they know works and can share?   I've incldued the 'notify_url' as a hidden field in each Patpal button   <input type='hidden' name='notify_url' value='http://www.blah_blah.co.uk/ipn_test/ipn.php'>     P.S. I did get this working about 3 years ago for one client  using Micah Carrick's IPN listening script which would alert me to a sale by sending an email to me but that stopped working months ago when Paypal updated something. Unfortunately I dont think that script is compatible with wahat paypal requires now although it still confirms the handshake in the simulator.   Thanks   Os     ... View more
