As a seller and shipper, we often find a telephone number an asset when we send a package. MANY times, our customers fail to give us address information that WILL NOT verify when we ship with FedEx. We find that apartment numbers are left off, or house numbers are incorrect, or a zip code has numbers reversed. With a phone number, we can try by using reverse phone on switchboard or other sources to get the correct information. As a last resort, we will call our customer to verify the correct information. We do not ship to un-verified addresses, as there is a $10.00 correction fee from FedEx. We have no other use for anyones phone number-we do not keep this information once a package is shipped.
