Thought I'd post the response I got (after chasing a response)... Dear Craig, Thank you for contacting PayPal Credit. I have refunded you the late payment fee of £12 as a goodwill gesture. This will be reflected on your next statement (16/10/2016). The refunded fee will appear as a "late payment fee adjustment" on the statement. I have reviewed your account and can see that you have set up a direct debit for a fixed amount of £xx.xx. The direct debit was set up on the 10/08/2016. The reason no payment was collected from your bank account on the 10/09/2016, is because the above direct debit is designed to skip the first due date after the direct debit set up. In other words, it was not effective on the 10/09/2016. I can confirm that your direct debit is effective now and that it will pull on your next due date (11/10/2016).
