I received a warning message from a friend and now I have big questions about Paypal allowing a "guest status" for anyone to use my account! Can someone explain this? Here is her message... PayPal has a class-action settlement going on right now. This does not affect my issue with them. However, I would like to WARN those who use PayPal that your account is not safe. If someone has any of your information, they can make purchases using your PayPal account without even having your PayPal password! They are given "guest status" and their transactions will NOT show up on your PayPal account page. And if you try to dispute these purchases to recover your money, PayPal will decline your dispute. BE WARNED!!! I used PayPal for years and only discovered this when someone gained access (I have no idea how) to my debit card number and processed several transactions on eBay through PayPal. As a result, I lost over $200 which I cannot afford as a retired person! They were given guest status as I stated before. I don't understand why it didn't signal a red flag to PayPal. So I want to warn everyone that PayPal is reckless with your account and monies. I will never use them again.
