Re: Pending Balance

Good for you!  Have you heard about EBID?  it is a free auction site that now ranks two on the auction scale!  I left eBay for many reasons; they just kept making these chnges, one after another, that raised their profits higher and higher, while small basic store owners like myself (with an inventory of 50 to 100) were barely keeping our heads above water!  Too bad!  eBay used to be a great place for both sellers and buyers. but not anymore!  I don''t know who they hired to come up with all these "eBay greedy changes and headaches." but I suspect it was the owner CEO Meg Whitman's (or whatever the name) campaign manager who raised all those millions for her to spend on her 2010 campaign in California, which she lost!  So now, they are making it even harder for eBay's sellers and buyers, trying to get those lost millions back!  Shame!  Shame!   I'm selling on EBID now, and as a Seller Plus Member, I pay $49.95, a ONE TIME FEE FOR LIFE!  The only thing I hve to pay for all my wheeling and dealing on Ebid, is a 2% fee of each item I sell, which are PENNIES!  I don't sell quite as much as I did on eBay, but I make a lot more money!  And anyone else can too!  We have a lot of former eBay sellers and buyers on Ebid, and by the end of this year will have five millions stores!  We have well over four million now!   If you are a SELLER PLUS, you can also have up to FIVE STORES!  WHAT A DEAL!  You don't have to be a SELLER PLUS, you can just buy and sell if you wish without a store, as often as you wlike, and it doesn't cost you one cent,  except for the items you sell, which is only 2% on each item.  There are also a few items you can select if you wish where there is a small fee, like Bold letters, 07 cents; highlight .05, etc.    So if you haven't checked out EBID, I invite yo uto do so now!  You won't be sorry! ... Re: HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

I DON'T THINK ONE'S MONEY SHOULD BE HELD FOR 21 DAYS UNLESS THAT INDIVIDUAL HAS AN UNDESIRABLE SALES RECORD AND LOTS OF DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS.  THOSE WHO STRIVE TO GIVE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS RIGHT, SHOULD NOT BE INCLUDED IN THESE WITHHOLDINGS.  I HAVE BEEN SELLING ON EBAY AND EBID FOR  ABOUT THREE OR FOUR YEARS, AND I HAVE NOT HAD ONE DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER AND ALL 100 PERCENT FEEDBACK!  FOR EXAMPLE, ONE LADY ORDERED A MECHANICAL TOY TRUCK FOR HER SON THAT DID ALL KINDS OF TRICKS, AND WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT IT DID NOT WORK.  I HAD FAILED TO TEST IT.  SHE WAS VERY NICE ABOUT IT, AND DID NOT EVEN ASK FOR HER MONEY BACK OR A REFUND OF ANY KIND EVEN THOUGH I KEPT INSISTING.  SHE SAID HER SON, WHO WAS AUTISTIC, LIKED IT ANYWAY, AND PUSHED IT AROUND MANUALLY, AND SHE DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM HIM.  UNKNOWING TO HER, I SHOPPED AROUND ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND A TOY TRUCK EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE ONE SHE HAD ORDERED FROM ME; I PURCHASED THE TOY TRUCK AND SENT IT TO THE LADY POSTAGE PAID WITHOUT HER KNOWING IT.  I STILL HAVE THE EMAIL SHE SENT TO ME, AND I CRY EVERY TIME I READ IT.  SHE WAS OVERWHELMED BY WHAT I HAD DONE.  ANOTHER TIME I GOT A REQUEST FROM A POTENTIAL BUYER WHO REALLY WANTED TO PURCHASE AN ITEM BUT DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY AT THE TIME; HE ASKED IF I WOULD HOLD IT FOR A FEW DAYS UNTIL HE GOT HIS CHECK, AND I DID.  THE FEW DAYS TURNED OUT TO BE TWO WEEKS, EVEN THOUGH I COULD HAVE SOLD IT DURING THAT TIME AND WAS TAKING A CHANCE THAT HE MIGHT NOT COME THRU.  WELL HE DID, AND HIS GRATITUDE WAS ASTOUNDING.  MANY TIMES, I HAVE REFUNDED MONEY TO CUSTOMERS WHO OVERPAID  FOUR OR FIVE DOLLARS ON THEIR SHIPPING AND HANDLING. BECAUSE MY WEIGH SCALES WERE A LITTLE OFF; AND MANY TIMES I ADD A LITTLE EXTRA TO TOYS THAT ARE PURCHASED, ESPECIALLY IF I HAVE AN ITEM THAT COMPLIMENTS THE ONE PURCHASED; A BUYER PURCHASED A SMALL GARFIELD FROM ME, AND I HAPPENED TO HAVE AN ODE (THE DOG) ABOUT THE SAME SIZE, AND I INCLUDED IT IN HIS PACKAGE;   I AM THE KIND OF PERSON WHO REALLY ENJOYS MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY, AND THE FEW EXTRA DOLLARS I WOULD MAKE DOESN'T MEAN THAT MUCH AT ALL IN COMPARISON.  I KNOW THERE ARE MANY OF YOU  SELLERS WHO ARE ALSO LIKE MYSELF, AND SHOULD NOT BE PUT IN THE SAME CATEGORY AS THOSE WHO ARE NOT TRUSTED TO COME THRU FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS.  IT IS JUST NOT RIGHT! ... I just asked the same question in my new post,  "PROBLEMS WITH INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING." I think the reason we don't have that option. is that these packages cannot be insured and Paypal/EBay will not accept the risk.  It used to be an option, and I like to use this method because it saves International Buyers a lot of dollars on shipping and you package can weigh as much as four pounds.  Because we no longer have this option for our shipping labels, the only thing we can do is take these packages to the post office and mail them there at the post office rate for International First Class which is a little more than it is online.  Or you can register with USPS and print your labels there. ... PROBLEMS WITH INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

Because of the large number of problems caused by International Buyers making payment to Paypal before receiving my invoice, I may have to discontinue my present policy of shipping Worldwide to Domestic only.  Since at least half of my Buyers are from countries like the UK, Germany,  France, Australia, Arabia, Canada, my sales would be cut at least in half.  I have done everything I know to alert International Buyers to wait for my invoice before paying, by including it in my listing, as well as editing the "Congratulations" e-mail which is automatically generated to Buyers, but evidently, these Buyers do not read the listings or e-mails very thoroughly and still make payment;  recently, after stating in my listing that :INCORRECT payments would be returned. Another problem with International Sales is that eBay no longer honors "First Class International" shipping by not including this as a shipping option when sending invoices to Interenational Buyers!  I guess it is because this method of shipping cannot include insurance, and since Paypal guarantees these Buyers with their Buyer Protection policy, they habe deleted this option.  This makes it very inconvenient for me, because now I have to mail these packages from the post office, who does honor this method of shipping.  I have never had a problem with this method; except for one time when a purchaser from Canada claimed this package was never received and I refunded their money.  This was required, even though the post office confirmed the pacakage had been shipped.  So why is the Seller responsible once the package leaves our hands!!  This is not right. I like to offer my International Buyers First Class International Shipping because it is very economical and saves them a lot of money on shipping; and you can send up to four pounds using this method.  I would like to see it returned by eBay or Paypal as an option for the Seller...and it should be.  After all, it is we who are taking the risk, not them, and it is we who refunds the Buyer...not them...although they get the credit for it by advertising their "Guarantee" to them. These are two things I wouild like to see changed regarding International Shipping, and would appreciate any comments along these lines.  From what the post office tells me, there are a lot of Ebay Sellers who are telling them about  this, and are avery disappointed that it is no longer an online option. ...
