I bought a $650 item from a Chinese supplier, and they shipped me a different lower price item. The item had many issues and did not function. They did not want to discuss it, so I opened a claim and ended up shipping it back to China to an address provided by Paypal. Return shipping cost $150 as the item is nearly 5kg in weight. I have spend $800 so far. After a month, they closed the claim due to the item not being received. Paypal calls it "invalid tracking" They allow a maximum return time of one month, yet the expected ship time is 8 weeks to China. They have released the funds to the vendor and closed the claim. The purchase was made with a Paypal balance, so I have no recourse through a credit card. How can I appeal this? I called and I was told that all this was clear in the terms and conditions, but I could not find reference to 30 days max transit back to seller. There was indication that the claim was subject to this. Can anyone help. Paypal says the matter is closed. Is there any way to appeal? I spoke to a supervisor on the call center and got nowhere.
