I made the mistake of having someone pay me back $4500 via PayPal. I didn't realize that I would lose $175 off the top, nor did I realize that I am only permitted to transfer $1,000 a month to my bank. Later I realized that I am not allowed to make transfers to other people if I am traveling. Essentially, my money is locked in PayPal's accounts where I can neither transfer it to my bank nor transfer it to another person. Don't put any money into your PayPal account that you want to access in a timely manner. This is best suited for other applications. User beware.
