I haven't used PayPal in years because of the security snafu you use, or may I say, misuse. I was asked at one point to verify my account, by emailing photos of various forms of I.D., and some stupid restriction ws placed on my account until I compleeted this. I did so, and no it was not a scam site or phishing attempt, it was really PayPal asking, so I sent it in. Never heard a word back. Never got any answer as to why, never was allowed to do,whatever the restriction was, I can't recall exactly anymore, it's been so long. Something about putting money on the account, I believe, which is dumb. Honestly, what crook would put money onto my account? I still recieve emails from PayPal about their policy updates and such, even though I am effectively barred from using it due to this stupid restriction placed on my account, and from time to time, I attempt once again to run through these verification hoops to try and get my account back to normal. Well, it's been so long I no longer even live at the associated address, no longer have the telephone number listed, etc, and when I even TRIED to login to see if I could, once again, make an attempt to clear this up, I'm am asked to verify my identity with an automated phone call. And you know what's the best part, THEY ALLOW ME TO ENTER ANY NUMBER I WANT. How the **bleep** is that a security verification? If I were a crook, I could just enter in anything, get the call and gain access to my account. I haven't bothered to go through it. It's, so friggen INSECURE, I actually laughed out loud. Yes. I LOLed. Well, I can't stand this. What is the deal? Someone needs to come on here and explain to me: A.) Why was my account restricted in the first place? Did I fail to notify you in due time of some change? B.) Why, when I sent my I.D. and jumped through your hoops, did I not recieve ANY verification, or even some mention of being rejected? C.) How is this phone call any form of security, and why should I even bother when I'm pretty sure you're never going to bother? D.) How, if I am unable to create a new account, am I supposed to fix this? This is the most contrived and confounding set of corporate B.S. I have ever had to deal with, and I've dealt with some real winners. I have been locked out of my account by this stupidity, and it's about time someone talked to me. Thankfully, I just found out you have a help forum. Well, it's about time. If this fails, I'm going to look to legal recourse, because quite frankly, I could have used the account to do business, and you effectivle barred me from any online transactions, since you pretty much hold the monopoly on online payments. ~X
