  I'll take that response to mean "I have never had this happen to me." As you have already said, Paypal's dispute process is Paypal's dispute process. I don't understand how the value of the transactions, vendor name, or knowing the times and dates of Paypal's automated emails helps you...I assume you already know none of that is useful for answering the question.   So, anyone had this happen to them? ... I never claimed I had one transaction. I had lots of transactions because the seller requires users to buy each individual filter separately. That doesn't change the fact that the   Once again, I am trying to determine if other Paypal buyers have had virtual goods purchases rejected as "not being eligible for Buyer protection" when they obviously are per the user agreement. As I said, they were virtual goods, in this case, in-software microtransactions for additional features that either do not work, or do not even exist once "unlocked".    Regardless of the specifics, all claims were filed with identical descriptions. For the ones requesting more information, I was able to provide over 8 pages of documentation, including links to release notes, etc. introducing the features, and then later commentary from their support staff stating that the features don't actually work yet and "to wait". I was recently scammed by a fraudulent seller who was intentionally misadvertising their products. I filed identical SNADs claims on all the charges, and had:   - some asking me for more information (which I have provided) - some asking the seller for more information (which they failed to provide within 3 days, topic of another post) - some refunded by Paypal - some denied for "Unfortunately, we are unable to take any action on this claim because it is not eligible under PayPal Purchase Protection." - some denied for adequate seller descriptions   Ignoring the fact that support seems to be just randomly selecting resolutions for identical claims, why would virtual goods be denied *period* for being as much when the user agreement clearly states they are covered? I have 5 contested charges that were awaiting a response from the merchant by 5/19 for more information. They never responded (big surprise, it was a scam). Nothing has happened since...no refunds, just an update to "Being reviewed by Paypal" with an update date of 6/17.   Why is it that if *I* don't respond within 3 days when information is requested, the case automatically closes in their favor, but if they don't respond, I have to go through a 30 day review process? Where is my refund??? Is this part of Paypal's bs buyer protection, hold the money and pump the float? ... View more

I was thinking about this more:   - I did not authorize the purchases; I filed a claim stating that the purchases were made fraudulently - The *purpose* of chargebacks is for protection against fraudulent activity. It's not for protection against things you actually did - It's frankly irrelevant if the source IP is the same, their software obviously has a "bug" intentional or not, that creates duplicate purchases - The seller is ignoring all communication about it   I am frankly flabbergasted that a claim like this was denied. I forgot to ask the key question: how long should I wait? What am I even waiting _for_? Is there a waiting time? The original emails said something about asking the seller to respond within 7 days, but as I mentioned, the cases are closed already. Sorry if this is confusing, I'm confused too :).   BTW, you mentioned something in another thread that caught my eye: vendors waiting longer than 180 days to do things because they know we have no recourse. I wonder if this is why they were never responding to support requests, or would say "we'll respond in 3-5 days" and then nothing would ever happen... ...
