@Michelleian No you are not responsible for their unauthorised purchase but you are responsible in making sure you qualify for seller protection when you sell. If you lose a chargeback or unauthorised payment dispute then paypal would reimburse you BUT only if you qualified for seller protection. If you choose to negate your seller protection by selling virtual items then that is your risk and not paypals as you were the one that chose to go ahead without seller protection.
