Hello Giraffe208,
Thanks for jumping in and providing a specific example. 🙂
In general, most tangible items are covered by PayPal's Buyer Protection, including cameras. There are some exceptions and they vary a little from country to country. The best thing to do (as kernowlass mentioned) is to check out the requirements and terms for PayPal's Buyer Protection and make sure you're covered. Navigate to www.paypal.com, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Legal, click on the dropdown to choose your country (select Other Countries if yours isn't listed), click PayPal User Agreement and then scroll down to the section labeled Protection For Buyers.
As an example, in the US, PayPal is not able to cover purchases that involve motor vehicles, industrial machinery and items that are prohibited by the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy. For the most part, however, purchases of tangible goods that are paid for using the "goods/services" option (NOT the Friends & Family option) should be covered.
I hope this information is helpful and I hope your online endeavors are all successful. Thanks for being a part of the PayPal Community!
