Dear Sapience, I just want to send a quick hello and tell you that I hear you, I understand your frustration, even though PayPal doesn't - and PayPal probably never will. A while back, when I heard that PayPal was applying for the permits to become a bank in the US - I nearly fell off my chair. What a massively **bleep** up house of confusion and incompetence that would be; essentially nothing more than a front to launder illicit money.  It's blatantly OBVIOUS that PayPal used the LOW Bidder for their 2016-2019 computer re-do of their formerly quite functional payment handling system.  In fact, I'm quite sure that the owner of PayPal hired one of his little nephew's high school computer geek friends to do it... I just GAVE UP on PayPal and went to another 3rd Party processer. And unfortunately, with the insane rise in shipping fees and the shipper's concurrent lack of dependable service, I am reaching the end of a previously fun side-line business. I believe many more small, online, sellers will do the same [And maybe that was the whole idea for the CCP Plandemic in the first place]   Eventually PayPal will probably only have the ChiComm, cheap, shoddy, incompetent sellers (who don't give a S*** about timely shipping or anything else for that matter - only the prospect of getting that payment in their account)  Then one day, PayPal will wake up - when all these sellers have emptied their accounts and run under a rock with their cash and a bunch of warrants out on them - and find it has no legitimate business left.  If there is one thing (most) USA sellers, and manufacturers can teach Global sellers it is this: QUALITY COUNTS. EARNEST DESIRE TO DO A GOOD, FAIR, HONEST, JOB FOR ONE'S CUSTOMER COUNTS.  And PayPal, and many thousands of shoddy global sellers on the world-wide-web in the 21st Century don't get this, and never will. ... 👎👎👎  To your comment, Sharpiemaker.  Most of the original retailers using PayPal at its inception when it was only a sub-branch of Ebay are busy, Normal people with real jobs, families, and lives outside of the realm of the bizarre sub-culture known as computer geeks.  These Ebay sellers needed to have a SIMPLE, functional, easy to read payment program that could give them fast answers so they could keep their end of the bargain and SHIP QUICKLY to their buyer.  On Ebay, they were graded, or Starred, on their shipping speed. The OLD PROGRAM did that in aces, because it marked "PAID" on the first page, not "COMPLETED".  Paid IS NOT completed.  The transaction is hardly completed!   Then came the smart phone, and the PayPal program was made compatible to that - and made awkward and non-functional on PC Desktops. Lacking in basic common sense is the main characteristic of 99.9% of Computer Programmers, IT people, and software designers. Their adding of the word "COMPLETE" to an act that ONLY HAD JUST TAKEN STEP ONE (the payment was recently received) is a perfect example of their basic lack of common sense in the real world, and further, their complete lack of understanding of what an online retailer needs in the real world. But what do they care about the quality of their work? They got paid anyway, for building a crap product.  So, in conclusion, PayPal didn't care to meet the needs of their many Ebay clients, and many of us left PayPal for other Payment Handling Systems that were not only better - but less expensive.  So, Sharpiemaker, I did me.   P.S. Do you really make Sharpie pens?  Do you work at a Sharpie manufacturing plant?  I've got some comments on the quality of them in recent years as well.  ... View more

BELIEVE ME, SHARPIE, the issue I had that PayPal's "fine quality tech support" gave me the most bogus, stupid answer for was NOT the obscure issue you suggested.  YOU MUST TRUST ME ON THIS.  Some lazy, ignorant seat-warmer within the morass of morons working at PP customer service/tech support gave me the most ludicrous, laughable, pass-off non-solution that even I, a non-techie, saw through it.  THEY LIE.  They don't care.  PayPal has built in this blase' attitude towards its customers as part of its total corporate culture.  It's deeply ingrained from the top down that 'The Customer' is the least important concern for their mega-corporation. But it's all GOOD, because the ludicrousness of that  situation about a month ago with PayPal's crappy "remodeled" website, obscenely poor customer service, ridiculously bad Tech Support, and maddeningly GREEDY corporate management finally got me so angry and frustrated that I ultimately closed down my little online business - and saved my blood pressure.  I'm in a happy place now.  A happy place, far, far away from PP's abysmal corporation. I just feel pity, from the bottom of my heart, for the thousands upon thousands of frustrated Gen X,Y,Z'rs and millenials who, through blind hardheadedness actually use this sad, pathetic megaldon of modern mis-treatment of it's customers.  There ARE other money-service companies out there who actually give a *&^% about their customers, and PP needs to wake-up and realize this. ... Dear Frickshow, Of COURSE your supportive comment validating my very specific criticisms of PayPal's customer service didn't SHOW UP ANYWHERE! Some PayPal toadie finds and deletes these criticisms all day, every day!  (Don't you know that's how PP solves problems?) 😂 YES. Please re-post it! PP is both Shameful and SHAMELESS in their Corporate mis-management. ... View more

Listen, buddy, I do really feel for you.  The thing about PayPal, the multi-billion dollar company - They are LAZY, LAZY, LAZY.  My guess is becuase PayPal doesn't want to PAY THEIR HELP ANYTHING. Their customer support will pass you off as easily as possible. Even if they make up some LIE to do it.  What you have to do is keep calling and bugging and writing physical (through the mail, certified) letters to PayPal until someone UP AT THE TOP of their food chain pays attention to you and your problem. What I am actually doing is going to another provider (for the payment management) called Stripe.  When PayPal's LOUSY SERVICE finally affects their bottom-line.  That is when they will start actually helping their customers. ... I'll try and be as succinct as possible; and hopefully some of you out there may get a smile or two at the sarcasm I am going to lob at PayPal as a mindless, uncaring, Corporate Machine, and particularly their so-called "Tech-Support".    Here's the situation:  Many thousands of us world-wide mom & pop website sellers have older websites. They are NOT loaded with moving parts and pretty, wiggly, graphics. But they do get the job done - which is to sell our little product.  I am one of those thousands, perhaps millions, of mom & pop website owners.  I had my website - up and functioning - for at least 6 years.  Around 2016 Paypal took it upon themselves to employ non USA educated PC engineers and re-design their ENTIRE SYSTEM from top to bottom. Oh boy, did they 'modernize'!  They did not take advice or feedback from common Website owners as to "Hey, what works for you, and how do you like a page to look?"  If I know PayPal, like I think I know PayPal - - They went for the CHEAPEST POSSIBLE WAY to make updates - just so the Smart Phone people could use them.  That is PayPal's style, cheap and half-done.  Use a font that is too skinny and UNREADABLE especially on desktop PC's, use modern code that is not recognizable by older websites (and BTW, don't give THEIR long-time CUSTOMERS, you and me, the courtesy of a letter or e-mail about said code updates and how to implement them) and most of all - Design a Summary Page THAT IS INCOMPLETE!  The idiots removed the "Shipped" category, so that when you get a sale it is immediately marked as "COMPLETE"!! LOL!  How stupid or lazy can a Web Designer get?   Are website designers and code writers really that dumb and out of touch with the reality of selling an item off a website?!  Or is it that they just really DGAF??  Can they really be so obtuse and uncaring That they don't understand that a 'sale' isn't "complete" until the customer over in Rangoon has had their item shipped to them!   THEN it is actually a "COMPLETED SALE" (And incidentally, THAT is when the funds should become available to the owner of the XYZ Website - Could save ALL of us, buyers and sellers, a crap-ton load of problems, and certainly makes the seller get off their duffs to get that item shipped Pronto, ya know?)   I could actually get physical with these cretin PayPal designers and engineers for their utter and total lack of real CUSTOMER CONSIDERATION.  They just did whatever the heck they wanted to do during the PayPal re-model (and as LITTLE of that as possible) and figured, "Heck, let the slaves in Tech Support deal with the millions of angry customers as our Integration continually  fails for them and creates a plethora of problems FOR PAYPAL'S LONG-TERM CUSTOMERS WHO HELPED MAKE THEM RICH. Lol. Let's go get drinks and play Video Games!"   To finish up, I want to let the rest of you poor suckers who are trapped in PayPal's overpriced web know that, today, Jan. 16, 2020. I actually had a Tech Support "professional" from PayPal actually LIE TO ME, with utter sincerity, that my PayPal payment buttons didn't work because of my Domain Provider!  Yep, PayPal's highly professional, English speaking, "tech support" put the blame for their lack of knowledge, and LAZY customer care to us Legacy website owners onto Go Daddy.com, my domain provider! So back to the header on this; I want to ask other victims of PP's world-wide pathetic joke of a service: Does anyone else think that PayPal's tech-support stinks?  Let's hear your experience.   " ... To MTS Christina - Hello and thanks for the acknowledgement that someone is thinking about listening to us merchants! As I stated in no uncertain terms before - the "New & Improved" PayPal website is not even CLOSE to being complete. With particular attention to the Summary page.  There are additional comments from other (FRUSTRATED) merchants that I just read and I applaud them all. Follow our suggestions! Please! It never fails to boggle my mind: The utter disconnect from common sense and actual reality that software writers live in.....  I Suggest that you get a couple average American PayPal merchants right in the room with the software 'geniuses' as they design this stuff and physically SHOW them what needs to be added/improved/ on your current website. P.S. One more thing. The Font on your website.  It's too skinny and spidery. It's not easy to see or read on the average office monitor. Can you improve that too? ... View more

Dear PayPal gearheads & engineers; I know you guys are brilliant, wonderfully educated in such specialized stuff in the PC industry, and always coming up with more & more 'Great' ideas to allegedly make PayPal better.  I need to tell you that you are missing the mark for us 'country folk' who just need a PLAIN, FUNCTIONAL, READABLE, UNDERSTANDABLE, EASILY USABLE website on the PC.  You have missed the mark with your new Smart Phone compatible PayPal website.  It may be great on the iphone - but it is truly not functional on our old desktop PC's.  #1 ISSUE:  You LEFT OUT the "shipped" notification on the SUMMARY PAGE that shows us non-techies in one glance, "OK, I shipped & completed this order to my customer!"  I have contacted & emailed you, and sent nasty-grams, and called customer support about this simple little missing thing in your program writing to no avail. Sending a complaint or concern to PayPal as a Merchant; Yea, it's like spitting into the Pacific ocean. It makes no difference.  I just want you engineers to know that due to an odd situation of a customer placing two orders 1 week apart - and your INADEQUATELY DESIGNED summary page that shows "COMPLETED" WHEN THE stupid MONEY HAS BEEN PUT IN!!  It cost me a $420 dollar mistake and unacceptable (to me) order mistake for a customer of mine.  NOTE TO GENIUS COMPUTER ENGINEERS:  An order is NOT "complete" when the merchant has been paid!  A LOT has to happen yet!  Us merchants have to pack the item (well & thoroughly, I hope) SHIP the item, then NOTIFY THE CUSTOMER that the item has been shipped. Your "New & (NOT) improved" paypal website FAILS TO PUT THAT FINAL "Shipped" on the Summary page which is the FIRST (1ST) AND SOMETIMES ONLY PAGE A MERCHANT LOOKS AT TO SEE IF HE/SHE HAS GOTTEN ANY ORDERS; to make sure he/she is caught up. Your current design is incomplete.  It is inadequate. I've asked engineering/writing, whatever you call yourselves in your sheltered castles over there in the wonderful land you work & design software - all to no avail. This simple, yet necessary function on the first page when logging into my paypal, just doesn't get done, and It cost me a $420 dollar mistake and unacceptable (to me) order failure for a customer of mine.  I just want to let you know I am frustrated enough with paypal to just close down my little online business OR to drop you as my online payment handler.  Yours Truly, Sharon, With Common Sense, USA ... I feel your pain, Gourdguru!  Seriously.  It is ridiculous [and a sign of the times] the low, low level of PayPal customer support in response to customer needs.  Your comment above is clear, concise, and outlines errors in PayPal's new and "improved" software.  They (PayPal) SHOULD read the community input to find out what's bugging their customers....however, I suspect they are too busy carting those wheelbarrows full of money to their off-shore banks. In one of my MANY complaint tickets this year, I called into PayPal and spoke with one half-way understandable CSR (representative). She said that PayPal was  re-doing their entire program so that it was smart-phone friendly; to enable owners of Smart Phones to do their sales, etc. off their smart phones.  Because we know, of course, a millenial shopping at the Gap as her undisciplined brats terrorize the store, and all the while she is conducting business on her Smart Phone is the smarter and better way to assure quality control in the e-commerce business world....   But I digress,    Unfortunately, what this new formatting and program means is that PayPal's off-shore software writers completely DUMPED the desktop PC version.  We couldn't have the old software back if we begged for it.  PayPal just scrapped the useful, readable, longtime understandable, complete desktop PC version(?)  In favor of a pared-down, unreadable, undiscernable, low-information Smart Phone version that many of us PC and Mac users are currently struggling with.  I have called in tickets about this.  And I will continue to call in tickets about this.     However, given the behemoth size and power of PayPal (have you ever Googled the PayPal bank in San Fran?  WoW.  What a display of glass & steel)  I am assuming that us drsktop PC users will be struggling with this lousy new program for quite some time.  My personal impression is that PayPal could care less about my difficulties with their new program.  I'm just a cell in their money-matrix  Our other option is to go to a whole different provider and boot PayPal, and their egrigiously large fees,  to the curb.  I'm limbering up my kicking leg right now. ... The new format is minimal and PayPal's software writers pared down the amount of information that is put on the packing slip and ESPECIALLY the summary report.   Currently, as of Nov. 2017, when I view my summary report which shows a list of recent customers, THE NEW FORMAT HAS NO INDICATOR THAT THE ITEM WAS SHIPPED OR THE ORDER FULFILLED.  THAT is Lame on the part of PayPal.  I pretty much dislike everything about the new formatting!  From the super-uber-skinny, pale and unreadable FONT  to the level of information that is currently available to the seller on the summary report. And the real insult is:  PayPal raised their fees for this customer abuse!     ... View more
