I have signed up for the service, as offered for free by PayPal now.
In a couple of days I indeed signed up for a shipping costs refund on an item I had sent back, and supplied the documents (photos) as required by the instructions on the page.
The procedure is apparently outsourced and handled by a third party company - <removed>
The following day I received an email from the above company requiring another photo of the shipping documents; I am not entirely sure why as I had followed the instructions outlined on the PayPal page, but there you go-- I sent some new photos over.
Following that I had received no further messages from <removed>, nor has my PayPal been credited with the due amout.
The email from <removed> contained a link to view the status of my case, however this requires a sign-in to their website. Now, when trying to register for an account, I was informed an account already exists associated with my email address. It appears the account had been created automatically when I'd filed for the shipping refund. However, I do not know what password is associated with the account, nor have I received any emails allowing me to set [a password] up. I tried the password retrieval option but received no email from <removed> either (yes indeed, I did check my spambox).
The email from <removed> also includes an email for claims disputes ( claims.paypalreturns [at] telusinternational.com ) -- and, alas, the mailbox returns a "550-5.1.1 The email account that you tried to reach does not exist." message when sending to from gmail.
Anyone has had success with actually receiving their return shipping costs refund?
This is mildly frustrating.
Thank you.
