And that's not all. I can't get my PayPal card to link correctly with a new bank account. The bank works as a back up source just fine if I purchase online from eBay. I was right and it looks like my money is not coming back. Fraud dept said PayPal had computer problems on Jan 2. They said my debit card was used that day to purchase gas, even though there is no record anywhere on my account of it being used. Although it was supposedly accepted at the pump the alleged issue with the PayPal computers didn't allow the payment to go through, so they say. Because PayPal are so nice they said they paid the merchant out of their pocket. And then they waited a month to the day to take the money out of my account without explanation or warning. But it's all a bunch of lies. I always fill the car and can't even remember the last time I put exactly $20 in the car. I can't even stop a pump on $20.00 exactly. I always end up going a few cents over when I try to stop a pump. And they still couldn't tell me what gas station it was at (shouldn't they have that info?) and they are at a loss as to how a rude smiley face is in the summary message. When they transfered me to fraud they had an explanation ready almost as soon as they picked up the phone. I already spent 3 hours on the phone today and talked to about 5 people. I don't see how rehashing the same thing for another who knows how many hours is going to change anything. There isn't even a case for me to dispute! It's just $20 given to rude smiley out of my account and PayPal is at a loss of what to do. Since they can't get the money back from the scammer they are not going to give me a refund because it would have to come out of paypals pocket. Not gonna happen. They easily could have returned my money and then take it back later if they are right and I'm wrong. But they didn't put it back because they have no intention of ever eating the loss. ... I tried the unauthorized charge route. Because PayPal can't see who the charge went to there is no charge they can reverse. Every CSR I talked to said they never seen this before and couldn't fix it, and they moved me pretty high up the food chain of car's. The last people I talked to were in some fraud department. They were at a loss and told me to call tomorrow and ask for disputes. Disputes were the ones that transfered me to the fraud department! They now have me going in circles lol.
