Same here. Set it up, paired it, tested it. Now it's got the "Reader Damaged" message. Glad I brought my Square reader along with me to today's festival. From what I've read, the Zettle Reader 2 is junk. Haven't been able to find information on how to return it for a new one, or if that's even an option. Looks like I've got a new plastic doorstop. $149.00??? $3k in 3 months for a $100 rebate? Available sometime in October?? Seriously? If I do $3000 in 6 months I'd be real lucky. Looks like I'll be using my square chip reader that I already got for $29 until Paypal gets it's act together. Even Square's contactless reader is only $49. WTF!!!   ... View more

Thanks for the link--just ordered the $29 Square reader. I usually prefer the Paypal Here reader because I can get my money instantly with the PayPal debit card, but I've got a show coming up in November and PayPal's  "coming this fall" is a bit too vague for me to wait around. October 1 is only a few weeks away...   ... View more

History has a history indeed.   From the researching I've done over the past few days, it looks as though this problem has been going on for YEARS, not just months. And no one's ever gotten a satisfactory answer from PayPal as to how or if they're addressing it. My conclusion is that they don't consider it a problem worth fixing. Apparently they feel they have enough business that they won't be hurting if some of us are frustrated by this and leave.   That said, does anyone know of an alternative inexpensive online pay system? I don't think I want to continue with a company that blows off a major issue like this for years on end. If this is their idea of customer service, I can't imagine what would happen if I actually had a problem with a payment or something. Time to look elsewhere. ... View more

I am officially joining the ranks of the thoroughly frustrated with Paypal's unwillingness to deal with or even acknowledge the infernal "History Search Unavailable. Try again Later" message that we've been dealing with for so long now. I've seen posts in other forums where this problem was being discussed as far back as 2007, and the only response anyone gets from customer service is the usual "reboot, clear your cookies, try another browser, try another computer" answer. One person did apparently get an acknowledgement of the problem, with a response of "we don't know when it will be fixed."   I've never had any problems with Paypal in the past other than this, but this issue is really starting to make me think I should look elsewhere for online credit card payment processing. If Paypal simply chooses not to deal with an issue that so many of it's users are describing, I shudder to think what could happen if I actually did have a problem with a payment or my account.       ... I'm never able to see more than the past seven days of transactions. It's very frustrating. I get the same error message no matter what browser I'm using:   "History search is unavailable right now. Please try again later."   But it NEVER works.   It's been this way for MONTHS now. I need to be able to go back and print transactions for records. Now if I don't print them out right away, I can't get to them at all. ... View more
